Eyewitness to The Unforgettable Tour Toronto Show
These words came as comments on my article on The Unforgettable Tour and seems interesting observation by Monica who was at the Toronto show. Here are her views:
I enjoyed your commentary, however disagree unfortunately. I was on the floor and also agree that the show was catered to those on the floor. However, for all the love and adoration that millions of fans have for Amitabh,I think that Amitabh could have spoken a bit more to the audience. His dance moves were scarce and at times I thought that perhaps he was not the one singing the actual hits. Abishek and Ash should have had more duets together, as their fans lives for seeing them together on stage.
Too be honest, none of them except for Akshay really seemed like they wanted to be there. I had the chance to meet them this week , and I must say my love with the industry was shaken. The stars were very abrupt, short, and rude. I understand that they are extremely busy people, however for those who claim to do this for the fans, in my few interactions with them this week as well as their presence at the concert, I did not get the sense that they truly did care about their fans. I feel extremely disappointed as my years of passion for the industry is no longer there.
I have always dreamt of the moment that I would meet them, and I did this week and almost wish I hadn’t. I also used to be a huge fan, however am shocked by their behaviours. In Hollywood, starts that are “snobs” or those that act as “elitists” are quickly removed from the spotlight. In India, these stars will always be stars regardless of their behaviour or actions due to their immense impact they have had on the industry.
If you read Amitabh’s blog, you will see that he criticizes the one reporter that spoke out at the press conference in Toronto this week. This journalist was simply asking what the Bachchans thought of the high ticket prices. Even if the question was posed in a negative manner, this is the job of the media, to find out answers to questions that the public may have. Mr. Bachchan as you can see in his blog, is quite upset at this outburst that occurred. There are just some thoughts.. look forward to seeing what everyone else has to say.

I will say, that it is really very unfortunate when our illusions for somebody get shattered. Specially if we have really longed to meet or see someone and have a very high image of that person. These stars are in reality very selfish, arrogant and Snobs… They get their riches by small small contribution by the whole brigade of their Fans hard earned money, but they think they are god..
Dear Amitabh, we all are praying GOD for your Speedy Recovery from your Illness. Hoping to see you fit and well in LA Show. I am sure you will be as energetic as Toronto Show.
My Long Cherished Dream of seeing ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ came true in Toronto. He brought back my old memories of seeing him on Big Screen in 1970’s by singing and dancing hit numbers from DON, DEEWAR, Yaraana, Kalia, Silsila, Amar Akbar Anthony etc. which are all my favorites, electrifying the entire Stadium and enthralling 10,000 plus audiences, who all were humming to the tunes. My special thanks to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and the entire team for making this event ‘The most Spectacular Live Show I have ever seen in USA/Canada’. I was dying to hear Amitabh’s voice. His unforgettable dialogues with his ‘Unforgettable Voice’ from movies like Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie etc. were a blessing in disguise. Last but not least, he also entertained young audience with his new movie hits.
I had never expected ‘Jaya Bachchan’ in Toronto. We all were taken a back when she appeared on stage. My hearty thanks to Jayaji for joining the ‘First Family of Bollywood’. We all remember Jaya Bhaduri from good old days of ‘GUDDY’.
Abhishek Bachchan was looking ‘HOT’ and ‘STUNNING’ and driving girls crazy. He stole my heart by dancing to numbers from Don and Silsila. For a moment I felt I am reliving the moments of Amitabh Bachchan of 1970’s. I truly adore him.
Rhitesh Deshmukh, Akshay Kumar, Vishal-Shekar added an extra fuel to the already HOT Stadium atmosphere. All-In-All, it was a memorable event, which will be the last stage show from Amitabh Bachchan considering his age. So, if you are a Bachchan’s fan, then there should not be any second thoughts. Get, set and Go and buy the tickets.
Many hearty thanks to Amitabh Bachchan for organizing shows of this magnitude all over the world. Also my hearty Congratulations to the entire team for making the premier show a Grand Success.
Note: All negative messages posted here and elsewhere is the negative media campaign from SRK fans, who always write bad things about Big B without seeing his movies or shows. When you are dealing with these kinds of fools, better ignore them and give them a ‘GET WELL SOON’ flower.
Have any of you met (or tried to meet) the Bachchans? Look, I am more of an Amitabh fan than a SRK fan, but I must admit, the Bachchans (esp. Abhi-Ash) are known to disappoint their fans. I was in Miami when they were there for the shooting of Dostana, and that was the experience of a vast majority of people who wrote on my blog as well. Not an Abhi-Ash fan at all since.
Also, maybe fans of the ‘Big B clan’ can explain why several of SRK and Salman Khan songs were used in the show. And why the song in which the audience was most involved was from Om Shanti Om!
To be honest, I went to the show in LA, and I left a bigger SRK fan, believe it or not. And for the record, I have seen more Amitabh movies AND shows than I ever will of SRK, and I really enjoyed the show because of Amitabh and Madhuri.
That fans will stop spreading ill feelings toward each other is merely a dream. Why can’t they all be great? Since they truly are, in their own right, jaane tu ya jaane na! =)
Cheers!
