Roszana meets Raja Hasan at Singapore

Posted on October 11th, 2008 by Jugal Kishore Bajaj

Roszana the only fan of Raja Hasan from Singapore whom we know on net ,today met Raja Hasan at ZEE Carnival.

I am very happy that Roszana is very happy to have met Raja and I am more happy because I had a little hand in making it possible.

Roszana says:

The surprising element my mum called raja without my knowledge. She told raja that I had something for him and wanted to give him. He said that I only could meet him during the autograph session. My mum then gets an unexpected call from a lady asking that if we wanted to meet raja. My mum called me on my cell saying that we were going to meet raja now. I was in shocked i thought that it was prank. I just meet up with my family and met the lady who called my mum. we followed her to meet raja. I think that raja must have told her about my mum. So the meet! He asked how was the show in Hindi, since I don’t understand Hindi, I didn’t know what he was saying. (but i wanted to reply him) Luckily my aunt was there, so she answered him. We took a group photo and of course being his fan I took a photo with him. Gave him the envelope containing a letter and poem I wrote for him. He was surprised. Actually during the meet I was speechless…I didn’t even take his autograph. I hope I will be able to tmr.

My mum kept on saying this “he is a humble and sincere man.”

Here are the photos of Raja with Roszana and her family:

Amitabh Tussi Great Ho

Posted on October 11th, 2008 by Jugal Kishore Bajaj

Happy Birthday to Big B. He turns 66 today.

From angry youngman of 70s to versatile ‘old’ man of 2000s, Amitabh Bachchan has come a long way. Despite getting immense critical acclaim for his recent release The Last Lear, he couldn’t make the film a success at box-office owing to the limited audience it appealed to. But success now has a different meaning for this legendary actor.

Amitabh Bachchan

As an actor, Amitabh Bachchan not only has a range of emotions to portray on screen, he also has that ability to carry off nearly any look with élan. Barring films like Mrityudata, Lal Badshah and Suryavansham, Big B seldom went wrong with the choice of films in the second innings of his career. In fact, fresh and experimental scripts are being written exclusively for him. And certainly that’s not just because he has ruled Bollywood for more than four decades, it is because Amitabh with his boundless energy is raring to reinterpret himself as an actor with each film.

People who worshipped his larger-than-life image wouldn’t have imagined that he’d enter their television sets through Kaun Banega Crorepati. But he did. And for everybody’s surprise swayed everybody off their feet (including his critics) with his new avatar as a TV host. Mohabbatein further gave him a new lease in Bollywood and we soon became used to seeing Amitabh in his bearded avatar.

Strangely, whenever Amitabh tried to experiment in his first innings with films like Ajooba and Main Azaad Hoon, audiences never accepted him. They liked him in his action and even comic avatar, but he had to live-up to a certain image.

Emotional touch

In his second innings however, audience loved him when he played a shattered father in Virruddh and a doting father-in-law in Baabul. They adored him in Baghbaan even more where he played an estranged father to the children that considered him and his wife a burden. We saw him as a loving father in Waqt who turns strict when he knew death could take him away from his family anytime.

Going bold

Amitabh Bachchan

So you thought, you could never see him on screen romancing a girl of his grand daughter’s age. You knew you were wrong when you saw him opposite Jiah Khan in Ram Gopal Varma’s Nishabd. Despite facing criticism from a certain section of audience, Big B went ahead and signed on another bold film Cheeni Kum that paired him opposite Tabu. Despite playing an old character, not even for a moment Amitabh seemed incompatible to Tabu who plays a 30 something in the movie. And who can forget the ‘Sexy Sam’ of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

From Jai to Gabbar

Though Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag tanked, but Amitabh got his deam role Gabbar (Babban) to play in the film. He had played the unforgettable role of Jai in the original version of the film - Sholay in 70s. He played the role of Babban in his own style.

Be it the role of ghost (Bhootnath) or a God (God Tussi Great Ho), he has played it all.

Pathetic viewership in this years reality shows

Posted on October 9th, 2008 by Jugal Kishore Bajaj

Gajendra Singh

Even the inventor of Reality Shows Gajendra Singh is finding it difficult to raise the viewership of Amul Star Voice of India. For the week ended 27.09.2008 the ranking of Amul Star Voice of India was as low as 40 and for the other show Saregamapa it was 41. Whereas Indian Idol 4 which has just started has more viewership then these shows and is at 13th rank. Last year Saregamapa enjoyed the highest ranking all throughout the show and even Amul Star Voice of India was among the top ranks.

I feel this time around there are no good and talented singers in these shows and the viewers are not showing any interest. Dramas and extra events in the shows will never help to raise viewership until there is good singing in the shows.

BHOJPURI FILM WITH MARATHI-SPEAKING VILLIANS A BIG HIT

Posted on October 8th, 2008 by Jugal Kishore Bajaj

Here is a report mailed by Mr. Pankaj Shukla the Director of the Bhojpuri Movie in which Raja Hasan sang a solo song Jiya Tose Laga Re. The movie has broken all previous records of Bhojpuri movies. Congrats to Pankaj Shukla and the team of Bhole Shankar.

A Bhojpuri film that show Mithun Chakraborty’scharacter saving his brother from Marathi-speakinghooligans and mouthingthe line Ek Bihari Sau Par Bhari (One Bihari is enough to tackle 100) has become a rage in Bihar, raking in a record-breakingRs 30 lakh within the first week of its release.

Bhole Shankar

The film, Bhole Shankar, is Mithun’s first outing in the Bhojpuri fi lm industry and slated for a Diwali release across Maharashtra as well as North India, its director Pankaj Shukla told Sakaal Times. The film has also been released in Nepal. In the fi lm, Bhojpuri industry superstar Manoj Tiwari’s character is shown asking for directions after reaching Mumbai when some Marathi-speaking hooligans accost him saying EkAur Bihari Aa Gaya (One more Bihari has landed). It is then that the elder brother, played by Mithun, arrives in the scene and beats up the hooligans.

Bhole Shankar

The success of the film has left its makers completely surprised, considering the factthat Bihar is reeling under the impact of the devastating Kosi river floods. Added to that the fact that it was released during the Ramzan period when traditionally it is believed that films do not do good business. Shukla, a former journalist, says the idea came during the shooting which was taking placewhen Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists were carryingout a campaign against North Indians in Maharashtra. The hooligans are shown speakingin Marathi, says Shukla, to establish the fact that Tiwari’scharacter has reached Mumbai.

Eminent cricketer, Kapil Dev; spectacular & vivacious Urmila Matondkar and director cum comedian, Satish Kaushik certainly need no introduction. Each one of them have touched skies in their field of expertise.

Kapil Dev

Indian Cricket League’s brand ambassador and Chairman, Kapil Dev was there to cheer the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 contestants with the entire ICL team. Urmila and Satishji were there to promote their forthcoming blockbuster, Karzzzzz. “Accidental singer”…is what Urmila addresses herself when it comes to singing but was very much thrilled while rating the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestants. Rating criterias include face expressions, attitude, appearance etc for Urmila while Satishji was just there to chill and enjoy pure singing. Well we have not left…Monty of Karzzzz aka Himmesh anywhere….He was very much there playing a dual role on the sets that of a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa judge and the celebrity guest for his movie.
